Porch Garden
Just before I took the LSAT, Daniel and I planted up a whole bunch of nice little planties out on the porch. They are all flourishing and growing like crazy! I kind of went wild buying flowers and accent plants so the pots are absolutely stuffed but I like it that way, they don't look lonely and instead look lush and full.

The plant in front is a chocolate pepper, so named because it is a rich, deep shade of purple - almost brown. The plant behind it is a red pepper. They are currently flowering and I can't wait to see some little baby peppers growing.

Last but not least, two varieties of heirloom tomatoes. The one on the right is a White Thomas while the one on the left is a red Brandywine. Dan picked them up at the Chicago Green City Market.

Around the base of the pot are various herbs including basil, thyme, parsley, peppermint and rosemary. We tried some cilantro and some purple basil but they both croaked on us. The tomatoes were also dropping their flowers for a week or so and I got really scared but I figured out that it was probably due to the hot weather and they've since stopped doing that for the most part now that its a little cooler.
Here is a slideshow of all the garden related photos I took recently as well as some shots of our porch and backyard. We are fortunate to have a landlord who has done some really nice landscaping making the backyard a lovely place to look out over in the summer.
A big pink begonia greets visitors to the apartment.
Here are the other three pots I planted with flowers: baby begonias on the left and dahlias on the right and I can't remember what the one in the middle is at all (Edit: I remember now, they are pink Gerbera Daisies!).
