Sock Frogging (otherwise known as the Arcade Fire jumped on me)
I have been slowly and steadily working on the purple socks I began on my camping trip a few weeks ago. I worked on them again at Intonation and as of tonight I had made it all the way down the heel placket and had turned the heel.
That is until disaster struck. Now I hate frogging as much as the next knitter but I just knew that the heel was not as tight as I wanted the stitches to be. See, it was a little saggy, a little baggy, I don't quite know what had happened but it just wasn't up to snuff and was much too loosely knit. The solution? Frogging!!!
So now I am back to this:

Oh well, what am I to do but shrug and remember that that's life when you knit.
On a more positive note, I attended both Saturday and Sunday of Lollapalooza 2005 held right here in Chicago's own Grant Park. I will sum up briefly by saying that we saw M83, ...And you will know us by the trail of dead, VHS or Beta, Blonde Redhead, the Pixies, Weezer, Tegan and Sara, Dinosaur Jr., The Arcade Fire and Death Cab for Cutie. And yes, Win Butler of the Arcade Fire jumped into the crowd at the end of their set right on top of me. It was quite thrilling really and I am now proud to proclaim myself a fan (not just because of that, though it did elevate my heartrate sufficiently, their set was just amazing as well).
As always, a mere 80 something photos (mostly of bands) right here on flickr.
